Job Description
Primary Function


The Payroll HR Tech contributes to the accomplishment of HR practices and objectives that will provide a high-performance customer centered culture. The Human Resources Technician assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties involving payroll. The HR Tech carries out administrative responsibilities in all functions and duties as indicated. Job responsibilities could change based on needs in the department.


Specific Responsibilities


  • Responsible for identifying eligibility for perfect attendance awards monthly, quarterly and bi-yearly.
  • Responsible for processing Attendance notifications and entry into the HRIS system.
  • Assist employees with HR questions and concerns.
  • All other duties as assigned by the HR Manager when needed. *
  • Maintain HR Tech desk manual.
  • Process gym reimbursement to employees.
  • Assist with Workers Compensation.
  • Responsible for year-end Kronos and PlanSource changes that reflect accurate vacation, STD accruals and new wages for distribution and drivers.
  • Process weekly payroll
  • Review Kronos and PlanSource for accuracy and identify ways to utilize systems more effectively using queries and reports. Responsible for tracking part time hours.
  • Primary contact for all aspects of payroll including step increases and year end increases.
  • Learn all HR functions and support these roles in their absence.
  • Partner with Managers and Supervisors to assist, train and resolve any issues with payroll concerns in Kronos.
  • Assist with Safety and Orientations.
  • Indicates non-essential
  • Responsible for assisting employees in the Boot or Shoe Program. Processing the invoices to corporate for payment and setting up weekly deductions on PlanSource.


Required Position Qualifications


  • Must have two years of payroll and HR experience
  • Strong focus on customer service required and ability to maintain confidentiality is a must.
  • Ability to work with very diverse groups of employees at all levels of authority.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in dealing with rapidly changing priorities and demands necessary.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to balance several priorities from multiple sources required.
  • Must be a team player with a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to meet competing deadlines under pressure while maintaining accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent follow through on
  • Must have a strong professional commitment to Human Resources.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime when needed.
  • Must have a strong initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal direction/supervision.
  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent attendance and predictability is a must.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Commitments, using sound judgment with the ability to recognize and handle sensitive/confidential information.
  • Intermediate to advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
  • Working knowledge of a HRIS and Time Management System.
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing to comply with all safety policies and practices.


Desired Position Qualifications


  • High School diploma with an Associates degree preferred.
