Job Description
Forms+Surfaces designs and manufactures architectural products used in public spaces worldwide. We are looking for an experienced and talented Payroll Accountant to join our team!


As a position in the Accounting Department, it will report to the Vice President of Finance, while working closely with our Human Resources Department and approximately 500 employees, therefore strong communication skills are required. The ability to effectively manage a high volume of tasks and enquiries is essential to the success of this position.


Essential Duties:


  • Audit benefit deductions relative to benefit invoices
  • Generate reports and manage Worker’s Compensation audit, 1099’s, ACA, 5500 and EEOC compliance
  • Process expense reports and payroll related payables
  • Process and maintain unemployment, workers compensation, COBRA, leave of absence, disability and life insurance claims
  • Adhere to State and Federal regulations while carrying out payroll accounting processes
  • Facilitate and administer open enrollment
  • Process payroll bi-weekly and audit corresponding payroll reports for accuracy
  • Participate in the development of benefit communications and disseminate
  • Perform HRIS data entry for employee changes and maintain electronic employee files
  • Prepare semi-monthly files for submittal of HSA and FSA
  • Review payroll tax reports and resolve state SUI, PFML or withholding tax issues
  • Assist with annual financial audit and prepare necessary schedules
  • Support management in ADP administration of Time and Attendance and answer employee’s payroll and benefits questions
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned
  • Ensure payroll journal entry is accurate or manipulate as needed to enter in ERP system
  • Perform account reconciliations
  • Create and export ADP reports to Excel for manipulation to provide trend analysis to management
  • Perform Excel review of monthly benefit invoices
  • Process new hires, terminations, leaves, and maintain employee enrollments for all benefits on the respective provider’s website
  • Facilitate and review international payroll for Canada, Australia and United Kingdom
  • Gain full education of system to implement process improvements
  • Process companywide payables of purchased items daily as time allows


Qualifications:


  • Strong math, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Two years of payroll processing and benefits administration experience desirable
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • ADP Workforce Now experience desirable
  • Two year Accounting degree required, four year preferred
  • Competency in Excel
