This position is primarily overnight, working Saturday's and Sunday's 11p - 7:15a (Front Desk) and Tuesday's and Wednesday's 10p - 6a (Facilities).

Responsibilities:
- Greet guests immediately ensuring all needs are met.
- Review group billing instructions at Front Office and group resumes daily.
- Attend mandatory monthly meetings and other training courses as required.
- Post daily hostel revenues.
- Prepare all computer systems for the following day. Ensures accurate and timely backup files / tapes are maintained on a daily basis.*
- Review cashier audits for accuracy.
- Walk the property periodically throughout shift, to ensure safety of the hostel, guests, guests’ property, and fellow employees.
- Clean exterior areas of the hostel as required as needed.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by management.
- Check registration cards for accuracy and review Night Audit checklists to ensure completion.
- Ensure hostel rates are accurate and updated in the property management system.
- Balancing credit card postings to property management system.
- Prepare, balance, post, and distribute all necessary reports on a daily basis.
- Clean common spaces, kitchens, bathrooms, and rooms as needed.
- Answer phones and deal with guest calls/issues.
- Maintain property management system data integrity daily and audit master bills.
- Assist overnight front desk staff by monitoring the front desk and front door during breaks, helping as able with guest questions and informing when guest service associate will return.
- Wash, dry, and put away laundry, including bedding and towels. Assist packing and preparation of linen bundles where applicable.
- Responsible for ensuring hostel service standards are maintained and receive and act upon guest feedback.
- Complete express check out in a timely manner and issues to security for delivery.
- Reconcile and balance guest transactions.
- Complete all assigned tasks as outlined on shift checklist.
- Report any maintenance issues discovered during shift; assist as able with basic maintenance such as clogged toilets, burned out light bulbs, out of order signs, etc.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to work weekends, and holidays as schedule requires.
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to multi-task and adjust in a changing environment.
- Overnight and housekeeping/janitorial experience preferred.
- Minimum 6 months hostel, hotel, or similar experience preferred.
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision.
