OPERATIONS MANAGER - Full Time
U.S. Water Services Corporation is a well-established and diverse water and wastewater utility organization specializing in utility maintenance, operations, engineering and construction services. U.S. Water is a fast paced and rapidly expanding company headquartered in New Port Richey, Florida with a staff of over 700 employees in twenty states
Proficiency Qualifications
Excellent oral and written communication skills including formal presentation skills before both small and large groups. Operations Manager shall possess demonstrated ability in troubleshooting, problem solving and negotiation with special emphasis on treatment facility and/or regulatory compliance. Experience managing large territories and state-of-the-art facilities. Operations Manager shall possess a demonstrable capacity to keep abreast of new technology trends and how they would apply to assigned projects. Operations Manager shall possess and maintain current FDEP Water and Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator Licenses and at least one of the licenses must be Class A.
Position Summary
This position brings industry knowledge, expertise, experience, innovation and technical advising to execute water-related work.
Location: Palm Beach, Broward, Miami Dade Counties
Essential Functions
  • Responsible for profit and loss for all assigned facilities.
  • Meet with the designated clients as needed.
  • Responsible for and assisting with environmental compliance.
  • Act as the liaison for all other available job for all U.S. Water Services Corporation (USWSC) support activities. (i.e. may coordinate maintenance issues).
  • Responsible for determining required work, developing and delivering work authorization proposals, as well as follow-up with workflow, work progress reporting, and billing.
  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day professional operation and maintenance activities of all assigned facilities.
  • Assisting in the client collection of account receivables.
  • Prepare proposals for operations, maintenance and construction bids, RFPs, RFQs, etc.
  • Responsible for safety audits/inspections. Such audits/inspections shall be performed at least annually.
  • Provide capital improvement planning recommendations if needed.
  • Assist with Regulatory Agency matters, such as but not limited to; compliance, reporting, meetings, and plans.
  • Assisting with environmental compliance reporting.
  • Maintain dual (Water and Wastewater) FDEP Operator Certification.
  • Ensure that the staff adheres to company policies and procedures.
  • Visit/inspect each facility at least monthly.
  • Recommending and implementing cost savings measures on his area of responsibility.
  • Meeting with potential clients.
  • Responsible for operator training.
  • Professionally perform all other job-related duties as may be assigned.
  • Supervising all assigned operator's, scheduling operators and maybe required to fill in case of emergency, time off, or illness as required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Other Characteristics
  • Intermediate Computer skills with Excel, MS WORD, CMMS Data bases, MS Project.
  • Knowledge of public safety and security issues and regulations.
  • Ability to coordinate own and others' actions, manage own time and manage personnel resources.
  • Ability to troubleshoot water plants mechanical knowledge of machines and tools.
  • Strong understanding and expression of written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of administration, management, Water & Wastewater Operations, mechanical equipment such as pumps, drives, blowers, motors and standard construction materials used in the Water and Wastewater facilities and systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to clients, staff, and management both verbally and in writing. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and structural blueprints.
  • Electrical knowledge

Minimum qualifications: Dual C Operator license. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
