Operations & Maintenance Technician Jobs

CAMS at CPV Three Rivers Energy Center is hiring for an O&M Technician. Applicants at varying levels will be considered based on experience. Selected candidate will be placed in either a single skill position (pending training completion for multi-skill) or directly into a multi-skilled position based upon prior experience. Individuals who have capabilities in multiple skills are preferred, as these will be expected at this facility.
This position will be primarily focused on plant operations and will require working rotating (12-hr) shiftwork.
The Three Rivers Energy Center is a 1,250MW (2) 1x1 single shaft configuration natural gas combined cycle facility featuring GE 7HA.02 gas turbines and GE A650 steam turbines with air cooled condensers. The facility is currently under construction, with expected commercial operations commencing in Spring 2023.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and operating plant equipment and responding to plant upset events and emergencies.
• Collecting and recording all necessary equipment and Instrumentation data and manually operating valves.
• Assures operational efficiency, unit reliability and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair of all plant equipment to include instrumentation, control systems, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
• Conduct all work activities in a professional, environmentally conscious, and safe manner.
• Performs predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Physical requirements include lifting 50lbs, standing for long periods, walking, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling etc.
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Office and other computer-based productivity tools.
• Understanding of distributed control systems (DCS) preferred
• Experience with steam turbine and/or combustion turbine power generation preferred.
• Makes operating decisions based on plant procedures, environmental regulations, safety procedures, and using good judgment based on operating data.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in power plant operations and/or maintenance, or a similar related field, as a qualified plant operator and/or maintenance technician
• Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the Operations and Maintenance of a combustion turbine generating station, including balance of plant equipment.
• Coordinates the operational and maintenance activities performed on shift without oversight.
• Willingness to perform work independently and a strong desire for personal ownership and responsibility for their work
• Ability to work shift work to include weekends, holidays, and be available for overtime as needed.
• Familiarity with Predictive and Preventative Maintenance programs
• Provides guidance to the O&M staff to operate and maintain the generating facility and all associated auxiliary and support equipment.
