We are a fast-growing portfolio of brands in the home goods space looking for an experienced operational leader to join our team. This role is to own all day-to-day aspects of operations across the Pattern portfolio, and is challenged to make decisions on both a tactical & strategic level.
The role is responsible for leading operations for our warehousing function and overseeing the flow of product from departure from 3PL through delivery to our end customer across all channels - both existing and future: DTC, Retail, and Wholesale.
A primary component of the role is creating synergies in processes and driving efficiencies in cost and service levels. They will also play an essential role in developing a strategy for the handling and system requirements to support a rapidly growing network. Role needs to be able to work and lead cross functional initiatives.
The goal of the Operations, Logistics & Distribution team is to deliver an excellent customer experience while protecting and improving margin.
This role has two full-time direct reports. This is a US-based, fully remote position reporting to the VP of Operations who oversees all Operations, Supply Chain, Planning & CX teams.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee all aspects of the day to day management of our 3PL warehouses, within agreed upon SLAs:
- Partner with Finance, Customer Experience and our 3PL(s) to investigate and resolve any customer chargebacks and inventory issues.
- Receiving - in conjunction with Logistics Manager / Coordinator
- Maintaining timely and error free order flows from several different channels - including eCommerce (Shopify), EDI (when applicable) and manual orders.
- Implement internal tools and processes that scale to support the business. This includes working directly with engineering team to continuously improve system performance & execution.
- Build and optimize internal process and procedures.
- Present monthly metrics and quarterly KPI’s to management teams and the organization.
- Produce strategic plans to optimize the current operations and fulfillment network.

- Shipping
- Provide robust reporting and root cause analysis to achieve service goals, including refunds and returns, and owning Product Issue tracker. Identify trends and opportunities to improve, and own all forward action / implementation.
- Review outbound freight and 3PL invoices for compliance to contracts and do the financial breakdown.
- Communicate regularly with the Customer Experience team to resolve all order problems/issues.
- Build relationships with local organizations, charities, and other services to help facilitate customer returns.
- Support the VP, Operations on special projects and other needs as required to support and grow Pattern in the future as business needs arise.

- Own Pattern’s Order Management System (OMS) set up and ongoing management (currently: Skubana / Extensive).

Qualifications
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- 6-8+ years of experience in Operations & Logistics, including in a DTC environment.
- Experience working with Import/Export logistics.
- Must be eligible and available to work in the United States. At this time, Pattern is not able to hire employees based outside of the United States nor those who require sponsorship.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work well remotely in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. Startup experience preferred.
- 2+ years of owning Operations & Logistics as a function
- Demonstrated adaptability to evolving technology and processes; skilled in change management.
- Experience leading 3PL relationships across an Omnichannel business. Experienced in contract negotiation and logistic and warehouse operation cost analysis.
Compensation & Benefits
- The base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $135,000 depending on level, experience and qualifications of the candidate.
- All employees receive equity in the form of vesting stock options.
