Herman-Scheer is a brand + growth design studio that's building and launching best-in-class modern consumer brands in the wellness, self-care, technology, and F&B categories. We were originally based in Venice, CA, but we're now evolving into a fully remote workforce.

We're looking for an Operations Coordinator who is a spreadsheet whiz, obsessed with organization, adept at multi-tasking and keeping track of a lot of small details. This person will be a key member of our Operations team, working alongside our talented team of designers, copywriters, client services team, and management to help keep the company running smoothly. This is a full-time remote role that is required to be based in California, preferably the Los Angeles area, reporting to our Director of Operations.


What You'll Be Doing:


  • Always Help Us Get Better: Collaborate with the entire Herman-Scheer team to drive ongoing process improvements, enhance efficiency, and elevate the quality of work and life for the team at Herman-Scheer.
  • Process Development & Documentation: Identify areas for process improvement, working closely with the Director of Operations and project management team to develop, document, and implement process changes and enhancements.
  • Additional Operational Support: Perform various operational support tasks, including handling HR paperwork and updates, supporting sales activities and CRM updates, managing files and contracts, assisting with client or internal special events, and undertaking other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
  • Finance & Administration: Maintain meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills to ensure flawless execution of financial operations. Collaborate with the finance partner and project managers to oversee accounts receivable/payable, ensuring timely invoicing and payment, and accurate categorization and allocation of expenses.


Requirements


  • Demonstrate a general understanding of human resources regulations, accounting principles, and accounts receivable best practices.
  • Excel as an expert user of Excel, Google Sheets, and/or other spreadsheet software
  • Showcase strong financial acumen, including the ability to comprehend, create, and modify budgets.
  • Possess 1-2+ years of experience in a finance/accounting, human resources, or business operations role within an agency, start-up, or similar environment.
