Operations Analyst - Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund

The Client

My client is a highly dynamic, market leading, multi-strategy Hedge Fund business that is rapidly expanding in both London and New York City. Currently they have over 200 employees and $8billion in AUM.

They are currently looking for an Operations Analyst to join their Middle Office group playing a key role in their trading activities covering a range of asset classes, including Fixed Income Bonds, Futures and Equities.

This is an amazing opportunity to work for a hedge fund that is going through a significant growth phase, where you will gain expertise in multiple asset classes, working with a high talent density team in very close proximity to the Portfolio Management group.

What You'll Do

Clearing & Reconciliation of Positions

• T+1 Reconciliations
• T+0 Clearing
• Facilitate the timely resolution of position and trade breaks

Life Cycle Event Management

• Facilitation of option expiry processes and other contractual obligations
• Compression and novation processing
• Corporate event and credit event processing

Process Improvement and Projects

• Enhancing knowledge through training and maintenance of team procedures and policies
• New business initiatives: including setup of new instruments and products
• Completing event reviews and implementation of risk mitigation improvements
• Process Improvements including technology enhancements

What You'll Need

• Excel skills, and ideally knowledge of VBA, SQL or another programming language.
• Good problem solving capabilities and evidence of process improvement.
• Experience in a Buy-side Middle Office or Trade Support function.
• Sound understanding of financial markets and knowledge of Fixed Income, Equities or Exchange Traded Derivative products.
• Sound understanding of Trade Life Cycle Management, Clearing & Reconciliations.
