We are seeking an experienced and motivated Ocean Import Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of ocean import procedures, regulations, and documentation, as well as experience with international freight forwarding and SOC (Shipper Owned Containers). The Ocean Import Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating the movement of ocean freight from various countries to the United States, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.
Bilingual in English and Chinese
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track the movement of ocean freight from various countries to the United States.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable import regulations and documentation requirements, including those related to international freight forwarding and SOC.
- Work with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Manage and resolve any issues related to ocean freight shipments, such as delays, damage, or customs holds.
- Maintain and update shipment information in the company's transportation management system.
- Communicate with customers to provide updates on the status of their shipments and address any questions or concerns.
- Prepare and process customs documentation, including bill of ladings, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
- Review and approve ocean freight invoices for accuracy.
- Provide support to the sales team by preparing quotes and assisting with customer inquiries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in ocean freight import operations, including knowledge of import procedures, regulations, and documentation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems and other logistics software.
- Knowledge of customs brokerage and import regulations.
- Experience with international freight forwarding and SOC (Shipper Owned Containers).
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
