York College is seeking a part-time Title IX/EEO Investigator. Reporting to the Chief Diversity Officer/ 504/ADA Coordinator, the Investigator will investigate and help ensure timely resolution of assigned reports of sex discrimination, sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, retaliation and discrimination involving members of the College community. Under the guidance of the Chief Diversity Officer, the Investigator will conduct outreach, case intakes and conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations in response to complaints filed with the Office of Compliance and Diversity. Additionally, the Investigator will provide detailed, unbiased reports that may inform disciplinary action or proceedings at the College and maintain internal and Centralized Discrimination Complaint Logs. Serve on the Campus Level Review Panel for enforcement of the Policy on Student-Athlete Attestation of Serious Misconduct. Conduct and participate in trainings to educate the College community on policy, laws and regulations, as well as reporting obligations.


The successful candidate will: - Manage the daily responsibilities associated with conducting investigation and informal resolutions pursuant to CUNY policy.


  • Assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors regarding CUNY's Policy on Sexual Misconduct and CUNY's Policy on Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination, including case intake, answering questions on the rights of parties involved, resource referrals, and procedural questions. - Develop and maintain critical relationships with faculty, Public Safety, key staff and students to promote Title IX and non-discrimination policies and procedures. - Assists in classifying and identifying incidents in order to maintain Clery Act records. - Assists in efforts and creating opportunities to define, assess, and promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as well as cultural proficiency. - Serve on related committees and attend Central Title IX meetings and training sessions.
  • Acts as a neutral party through all aspects of the investigation to ensure a prompt, fair and equitable process for all parties. - Conduct intake meetings, interview complainants, respondents, and potential witnesses, conduct thorough investigations, collect all relevant evidence. - Provide timely follow-up and updates to the complainant and respondent - Gather and secure relevant documentation. - Keep accurate and thorough records and notes of the investigatory process.
  • Coordinates with campus partners involved in the response to reported incidents of all forms of sexual harassment and discrimination to ensure a consistent and appropriate response to all reported incidents. - Helps create and maintain a welcoming, supportive, equitable and safe environment for every member of the campus community.
  • Write comprehensive, articulate, and well -written investigative reports for review by the Chief Diversity/ 504/ADA Coordinator and President.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with state and federal, legislations, regulation, and CUNY Policies requiring prompt and equitable resolution of Title IX, affirmative action, equal opportunity, Title VI and Title VII complaints.- Ensures compliance with record keeping and confidentiality of protected information.- Develop and execute an investigation plan for each complaint, including contacting all involved parties and providing them with information about the investigatory process, available resources, interim measures and reporting and resolution options.


Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree required.


Other Qualifications


Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required. Related experience must include at least two (2) years conducting EEO and/ or Title IX-related investigations.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS-Juris Doctor (J.D.) and two years of experience conducting investigations or interviewing clients in a legal or advocacy-oriented capacity of any kind.

Knowledge of or professional experience conducting investigations related to sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, gender-related violence and/or discrimination in a higher-education setting or other related field. Excellent judgment with the ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information. Strong skills in the areas of conflict resolution, problem solving, interviewing, and investigation. Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess and negotiate complex, highly sensitive situations. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including skill in writing concise, logical analytical reports to convey complex issues. Excellent critical thinking skills, including the demonstrated ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and facilitate resolution of difficult challenges while maintaining strict confidentiality and sensitivity. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to listen well and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for individual needs. Ability to maintain neutrality and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively and professionally across multiple constituencies to resolve complaints in a neutral, sensitive manner. Demonstrated commitment to working with and for diverse, multicultural populations.


Compensation


Non-Teaching Adjunct III (3)


$53.79 to max $63.85 per hour


Salary commensurate with education and experience.
