Job Summary:
The Senior Regulatory Document Specialist will support environmental projects. Position will apply regulatory analysis for technical projects for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and other federal statues requiring specialized support.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Support completion of required compliance on complex projects, such as NEPA documents with an emphasis on environmental assessments, consultations for ESA and NHPA, and permit applications for Section 404 and 401 of the CWA.
• Help ensure that required environmental impact analyses are conducted pursuant to the NEPA and the Council of Environmental Quality regulations, when required by federal, state, and local governments.
• Provide project document quality control, reviewing for content, technical accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of project management plans.
• Routine engagement and close coordination with internal project teams ensure schedules remain on track.
• Assist in the development of environmental studies in consultation with project managers and other subject matter experts.
• Monitor changes in environmental statutes, regulations, and policies and advise the leadership team regarding relevant current and pending environmental compliance requirements.
• Contribute to a variety of federal and state NEPA and planning documents, including permitting applications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Demonstrated skills working closely with program managers, clients and team participants and a successful track record in developing and completing assignments.
• Strong history working with federal and state government clients.
• Comprehension of government contract compliance requirements, especially recordkeeping.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Position is subject to satisfactory completion of a background check, and reference check. A valid driver’s license is also required for this position.
• Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
Education and Experience:
• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• 10+ years of related experience
Project Management Professional Certification is preferred.
• Current experience with preparing NEPA documents (i.e., EA and EIS).
