What You Will Be Doing
This position will be responsible for managing the processes to uphold compliance standards relative to applicable laws, regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures. This role will interface directly with policy officials, government agencies, and their associated counterparts. You will lead complex investigations and research to achieve successful business outcomes.
The primary focus of this role will be to support ZEEKR’s US Aftermarket efforts to operate within the boundaries of governing rules, adhere to all applicable regulations and requirements, and to identify strategic risk management / risk mitigation solutions.
Candidates must have exceptional organizational, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills; and be capable of working on multiple projects of a complex nature with minimum supervision.
Preference will be given to candidates who have studied or spent a portion of their career in risk management, public affairs, or law. US Automotive regulatory knowledge or policy experience is a plus.
- Keep abreast of new technologies that could impact compliance risks as part of fact-finding and intelligence gathering missions
- Develop and maintain sound Business Continuity practices
- Assist with high-risk due-diligence reviews
- Ensure quality control in areas of spending, policies, oversight, and risk management
- Disseminate regulatory or legal information to all levels of management as well as providing employees with accurate and timely compliance information
- Act as the initial point of contact for any new or revised rules and regulations, and work with internal leaders to provide accurate, timely solution-driven processes to satisfy stated or interpreted requirements
- Be comfortable negotiating with high-level officials
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory compliance research, analysis, and interpretation that involves a high degree of tact, effectiveness, and diplomacy in interpreting and in communicating regulatory compliance issues
- Research regulatory matters and propose sound, data-driven or fact-based solutions
- Identify and maintain working knowledge of applicable laws or regulations
- Possess strong government (local, municipal, federal) policy knowledge
What Skills & Experiences You Will Need
Required skills:
- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
- Excellent communicator, strong organizational skills, and a superior attention to detail
- A minimum of 3 years of Compliance or Policy experience, or equivalent, demonstrated through work experience
- Proficiency with English and Chinese languages, with either as native language
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Preferred qualifications:
- Emissions, safety, EPA, FMVSS, CARB, and other related motor vehicle compliance certifications
- OEM, automotive supplier, aftermarket industry, or Tech start-up experience is a plus
- Supervisory experience
- Proven ability to work independently and take initiative
- Capable to adapt and work in rapidly changing, white space environment with undefined solutions
- 7 or more years of related experience or any combination of education and experience
This position is open for Remote work, although preferred to be based nearby the San Francisco or San Jose areas.
