JOB SUMMARY


The Multimedia Specialist will work in the implementation of activities related to the conception, design, creation, development, and production of media—video, audio, graphics, photography, and other forms of digital media—for diverse audiences, including internal and external stakeholders. The Multimedia Specialist will work with the Marketing & Communications team under the direction of the Director of Marketing.


The role is hybrid, working remote from home and traveling to capturing content at California school sites, with occasional meetings at the home office in Santa Ana, CA. Must live in southern California for required travel to southern California school sites (mileage reimbursed). Trips to northern California will be expected several times per year (travel covered). Rarely, on-site video production and editing projects may require nights and weekend work, however, hiring manager emphasizes work life balance and healthy work environment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Evaluate new audio/visual equipment needs.
  • Produce and/or edit video for internal communications.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by the director of marketing.
  • Work closely with the graphic designers for video graphic elements.
  • Source videos and photos from asset management libraries as requested.
  • Capture video footage and interviews (up to 2-3 days per week)
  • Tracking multiple multimedia projects and delivering projects to meet deadlines.
  • Assist in repair and upkeep of production equipment.
  • Take photos of students, staff, and any organizational stakeholders and partners
  • Upload, archive and organize video content to asset management platforms.
  • Coordinate with Multimedia Producer and execute video projects from ideation, preproduction, production, editing/post-production, and distribution.
  • Execute video content ideas for various campaigns, projects, advertising, and social media.
  • Creatively repurpose existing video content for social media


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS


  • Clear understanding of production and post-production workflows, asset management & digital file formats.
  • Solid knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro or other nonlinear editing apps (e.g., Final Cut, Avid Media Composer, etc.).
  • 1+ years in a similar role or relevant work experience (portfolio required)
  • Strong storytelling, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proven knowledge and interest in engaging followers through social media (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube etc.)
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Experience in of stages of video production (pre-production, production, and postproduction). Project samples will be required.
