Overview:
This position functions as the direct supervisor of the patient support service team including, reception and the referral unit at the SIU General Internal Medicine FQHC. As such, this position is responsible for seeing that staff in the team maintain and update patient clinical and billing information as patients present to the clinic. This position also ensures patient data is accurate and up to date; provides initial assistance with billing and insurance problems, and establishes protocols and workflows to assist with patient support. This position is responsible for ensuring that all workflows within the reception and referral units are being utilized for accuracy and efficiency. The incumbent must exercise judgment and work independently to ensure that scheduling and insurance issues from patients, physician faculty, residents, hospitals, federal and state insurance programs., managed care companies, community agencies and other parties are resolved in a timely fashion.
Salary: $3,404.42/month
