Medical Copy Editor Jobs

Our client, an academic publishing company specializing in scientific, technical, and medical content, is looking for a Copy Editor to join their team remotely.

*This opportunity is a 1-year contract with the opportunity for extension or conversion*

In this role you will copyedit Clinical Overviews and coordinate style alignment for Point of Care content, ensuring the editorial integrity of the Clinical Overviews and related content including editorial policies and style guides, and managing content formats and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review content for organization and clarity and provide feedback as necessary to Medical Editors and Editor-in-Chief
• Attend and participate in monthly Digital Content Editorial team meetings to discuss editing challenges, best practices, workflow, and style changes
• Work with Image and Permission coordinators to review, correct, and approve images for Clinical Overviews
• Propose enhancements of existing development processes to continuously improve content quality and timeliness and to meet customer needs
• Copyedit content to ensure compliance with editorial policies and style guidelines
• Maintain content of style guide, templates, and editorial policies

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and experience in communication with clinicians/health care professionals
• Bachelor’s degree
• At least 5 years of editorial experience and 3 years of copyediting experience in medical publishing
• Familiarity with AMA Style
