Learningmate- English/ History Copy Editor Required

URGENT NEED FOR ENGLISH AND HISTORY COPY EDITORS

LearningMate helps K-12 organizations create digital content that is personalized, accessible, and engaging. We seek a highly qualified content editor to work with our team over the next 12-14 months. We are conducting a comprehensive curriculum review of a new K-12 academic program for a US-based charter school. The curriculum comprises courses in all subject areas, including assessments and associated materials.

Profile/Role: Copy Editor - K-12 English

Responsibilities:

As a copy editor for K-12 courses, you will apply your expertise to perform heavy copyediting of instructional content, assessments, and associated materials. You will ensure that content meets expectations for editorial quality, accuracy, and adherence to editorial and writing style guidelines.

You will work with a project team including the Project Manager, Curriculum Director, Copyediting lead, content editors, copy editors, quality assurance specialists, and learning design strategists to ensure deliverables are submitted on time and meet expectations.

Qualifications

Bachelors/ Masters in the subject applied for (i.e. English / History

At least 3 years of copy-editing &/or Proof Reading Experience

Experience copyediting instructional content and assessments in a K-12 and/or Publishing Environment

Experience working with client style guides APA and Chicago Manual of Styles

Knowledge of editorial processes and work-flow

Desired Skills:

Ability to work flexible hours with minimum supervision

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
