Job Description
Position Summary


A medical assistant functions under the direction, guidance, and supervision of a licensed physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or RN. A medical assistant assists in coordinating all aspects of the care received in the Primary Care office.


Minimum Qualifications


Education Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program. In lieu of a Medical Assistant course, recent completion of one year formal RN program.


ExperiencePrimary Care setting experience preferred.


Knowledge and Skills Vitals, triage categories, medication administration, splinting, competency in lab and radiology orders, knowledge of medication rotation and record keeping.


License/Certifications Current BLS card from American Heart Association (AHA).


Equipment EKG machine, blood pressure machine, otoscope, oxygen tank, stethoscope, nebulizer, glucose meter, thermometer, pulse-oximeter, Omnicell medication dispensing cabinet, computer, copy machine, fax Machine, and scanner.


Physical Requirements Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
