Job Description
San Diego’s St. Paul's PACE program (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly). This innovative program is for individuals 55 years or older, who are living with chronic illness, or disabilities and need coordinated medical care to continue living as independently as possible in their home and community. The healthcare teams at St. Paul’s PACE provide a hands-on approach coordinating medical, social, and home care services so individuals no longer need to manage their medical care alone.


This is a full-time position for our PACE Clinic. Typical hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Job Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Clinic Supervisor (Registered Nurse), takes vital signs of participants of St. Paul’s PACE. Escorts participants to exam rooms, and prepares participants to be seen in the clinic and assists providers physician and nurses in treatment. Ensures clinic flow for participant/provider visits is efficient and on time Ensures exam rooms are prepared for provider use and stocked with appropriate supplies. Administers injections, does blood draws, INR’s, finger sticks, and obtains specimens. Responsible for entering all daily activities into electronic health record. Is also able to provide Spanish/English translation when needed.
Qualification And Requirements
  • Education – Medical Assistant Certification
  • Experience – A minimum of one year’s experience in working with the frail or elderly population required. Shall have either training or related experience in the job assigned.
Physical Demands And Working Conditions
  • Physical Requirements - Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing, walking, pushing, bending, kneeling and reaching at arm’s length and overhead in clinic, rehab department and in community for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to transfer participants needing maximum assist of one. Requires the ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push or pull objects exceeding 150 pounds, using appropriate body mechanics.
