Medical Assistant / Clinic Coordinator

We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Assistant/Clinic Coordinator based in Florida, who is available to travel and work remotely at multiple sites throughout the state. In this role, you will support FOLX's in-person clinical services in Florida and remote telehealth services as needed. We currently have 8 in-person hubs located across Florida: Tallahassee, Orlando, Tampa, Aventura, Fort Myers, Gainesville, Pensacola, and Jacksonville – you will be traveling between these sites to support all in-person clinic days. The number of in-person clinic days will generally vary between 10-20+ days per month and include weekend days.

What You'll Do:

• Send refill surveys to members
• Provide education and counseling to members on GAHT
• Provide support to members during in-person visits:
• Collaborate with the Member support and clinicians to complete any forms or paperwork deemed necessary by members, schools, or healthcare entities.
• Manage incoming message inbox in EMR, direct messages to appropriate recipients, answer questions as allowed by scope of practice.
• Review informed consent form with member
• Contact members about outstanding/follow up labs, follow up with laboratory vendors
• Create and maintain in-person schedule, adjusting dates based on current volume and needs
• Additional support of telehealth and in-person practice:
• Collaborate with clinicians and support team to arrange laboratory services, respond to medical requests by members and outside entities
• Help with travel arrangements for on-site clinical staff as needed
• Provide any support required by the clinicians or nurses, while functioning within the role of the medical assistant, in order to ensure optimal member care
• Manage hub locations: function as point person for escalations with vendors
• Confirm/update medical history at beginning of visit and answer any process-specific questions
• Provide administrative support to the Florida in-person team:
• Code and fill out insurance forms, manage prior authorizations
• Support and participate in Quality Assurance activities
• Prep all charts prior to in-person visits, including upload of prior prescription or psych/social documentation

What You'll Bring:

• Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with a wide variety of patients and coworkers
• Desire to make sure all questions from a patient are answered completely, and patient is linked with appropriate resources and referrals if beyond our scope
• Demonstrated experience in working with diverse groups, including diversity in race, ethnicity, economic status, and educational background.
• Current valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Active MA certification (through the American Association of Medical Assistants preferred)
• Great organizational and time management skills that allow for timely completion of tasks and patient follow-up, especially important in a remote work environment
• Clinical experience and expertise serving the trans and queer communities
• Excellent decision-making skills and communication

Salary: $60,000 annualized

Transportation, lodging and meal expenses will be reimbursed based on FOLX's Travel Reimbursement Policy.
