Responsibilities As a Medical Assistant, you will be a part of the Clinical Care Team engaging with our patients to develop lifelong well-being and health.
The Medical Assistant role makes a difference in the patient care we offer and assists physicians and other clinicians by providing a unique blend of skills and knowledge to carry out prescribed medical treatment. Medical Assistants are multiskilled health professionals responsible for performing administrative and clinical tasks in our primary care facilities while delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining positive patient engagement. Job Functions: Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type Manage the provider’s schedule to ensure efficient workflow Obtain and record medical history and vital signs Room patients and assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments Perform specimen collection and point of care testing Prepare and administer medications under direction of healthcare providers Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including documentation of HEDIS and Stars quality measures Maintain established quality control standards Required Qualifications: Medical Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from a Medical Assisting program Current CPR certification MUST be Bilingual in English and Spanish NOTE: This is a Travel Medical Assistant position that will cover the Podiatry Department. Your home office will be in Margate, but you will also travel to the following locations: Plantation, Deerfield, West Pembroke Pines, Pompano and Ft.
Lauderdale Preferred Qualifications: An active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAMA, AMT, ARMA, MedCa, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, NHA or AAH 1 or more years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back-office' direct patient care Experience with HEDIS and ICD/CPT coding Hands-on professional Phlebotomy experience Experience with Electronic Medical Records Experience in a fast paced/high volume environment Additional Information: Working hours: Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM NOTE: This is a Travel Medical Assistant position that will cover the Podiatry Department. Your home office will be in Margate, but you will also travel to the following locations: Plantation, Deerfield, West Pembroke Pines, Pompano and Ft. Lauderdale This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.
