The Role

Headlands Research is looking for a Medical Assistant / Clinical Research Assistant to assist coordinators in clinical research protocols. This individual will work directly with the coordinators, investigators, and other research staff to ensure protocol visits are being completed in accordance with protocol guidelines.

• Screening and enrolling study subjects based on inclusion/exclusion criteria
• Collect clinical data vital signs, telephone calls and entering data into electronic data system
• Clinical research experience preferred
• Verifying study documents

This Senior Accountant role will be a full-time position based in Atlantis, FL.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and energized accounting professional to be an integral member of the regional finance and accounting team. Reporting to the Regional Controller this role will have responsibility to support the accounting function for multiple sites in the network while providing other ad-hoc accounting and finance support services, including assisting onboarding and transition of new sites to the network. The role will ensure a strong internal control environment and compliance with company policies and US GAAP.

• Assists Regional Controller and other team members with the management of the monthly accounting and reporting process for multiple sites and a growing number of clinical studies
• Provide support for audit, tax, and other information requests
• Preform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts
• Creates journal entries for multiple sites to support the full accrual accounting cycle for multiple sites
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and assist in the monthly close
• Maintain and manage the fixed asset module, including performance of an annual physical inventory
• Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
• Financial analysis as required to support the business
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Manage the Accounts Payable function including compliance with the annual 1099 process
• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
• Ensure local reporting requirements are maintained on a timely basis
• Maintain ongoing reconciliations between the AR sub-system and the general ledger

• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with non-accounting professionals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
• Required Skills/Abilities

• Education and Experience
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting
• At least five years of related accounting or finance experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field preferred
