Job Description

Duties:

- Prepare patients for examinations and assist podiatrist during procedures.

- Take patient vital signs, record medical histories, and update patient information in eClinicalWorks.

- Conduct x-ray procedures (if licensed), ensuring patient safety and comfort.

- Clean and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.

- Clean exam rooms and restock supplies.

- Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatments, and preventive care.

- Fit patients for shoe inserts and orthotics.


Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- MA certification

- X-ray certification (preferred)

- Experience working as a medical assistant in a podiatric or orthopaedic setting

- Proficient in using electronic health record systems and medical software

- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic pharmacology

- Strong communication skills and ability to provide compassionate care to patients

- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

- Attention to detail and accuracy in recording patient information and performing tasks

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information


This is a full-time position with regular business hours Monday through Thursday or Friday. Shift begins each morning at 7:45, and the last patient is scheduled at 4:30. Lunch is about an hour, and the shift resumes at 1:15. Depending on the needs of the office, you may have Friday off in whole or in part, so you can expect about 30-40 hours a week.


Compensation is $15.00 per hour, and we offer two weeks of paid vacation and 40 hours of paid time off to all full-time staff after 90 days of employment.
