Lead Clinic Assistant Jobs

SIMEDHealth is currently looking for a Lead Clinic Assistant to join us at our Sleep Center in Gainesville, FL.

The Lead Clinic Assistant (LCA) is responsible for overseeing the front desk reception and management of the clinic front desk. The LCA is the “go to” person for his or her colleagues and as a working Clinic Assistant performs the functions of a true Clinic Assistant while proactively addressing concerns before they become problems. The LCA sets an example for Customer Service skills. The LCA develops and maintains positive professional relationships between SIMEDHealth and our patients. The LCA utilizes the years of experience to educate and foster newer employees by guiding them on SIMEDHealth values and striving for SIMEDHealth excellence.

The Lead Clinic Assistant is not a supervisory position however, peers may be assigned to the LCA for delegation and oversight of basic CA related tasks. The LCA is a working position and will be responsible for the following duties. Duties are assigned based on the needs of the clinic and not all may be applicable.

Qualified Candidates Will Have

• 5+ years previous medical office experience REQUIRED
• A High School diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED).
• 3 years Intergy EMR experience REQUIRED.
• Proficiency in utilizing a computer including Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Outlook (REQUIRED).

The following are some of the duties which may be required of you as a Clinic Assistant. Duties are assigned based on the clinic need and not all may be applicable.

• Scan medical records and documentation into the EMR system
• Check In / Check Out Patients
• You will be required to understand, uphold and abide by the following:
• Obtain authorizations for services through various insurances
• Assisting Management with reports and data collection as needed
• Respond to requests within the clinic (patient, colleague, visitor, provider or other) in a positive, professional manner at all times
• Assisting Management with additional clinical operations functions as needed
• All policies, protocols and procedures of SIMEDHealth including, but not limited to, those found within the SIMEDHealth Employee Manual, SIMEDHealth Compliance Plan and those that shall be implemented during the employee’s tenure.
• Respond to telephone calls in a clear, professional and positive manner.
• Process referrals for patient services (both incoming and outgoing)
• Post accurate charges based on services performed
• Schedule Appointments
• Navigate and utilize the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system effectively and efficiently to complete assignments
• Will demonstrate appropriate and effective Customer Service skills
• Assisting with training and mentoring of newer Clinic Assistants
• Correctly and efficiently enter information into the EMR system
• All HIPAA and Medical Records Rights to Access Policies and Procedures
• Process and/or direct incoming medical records requests
• Compile, Process, Understand and be knowledgeable of required patient forms (consent for treatment, etc…)
• Calculate, collect and process appropriate patient co-pays and deductible payments.
• All safety policies and procedures
• Perform Daily Close/End of Day procedures including cash balancing.
• Appropriately and efficiently respond to tasks in the EMR system
