Aerospace Mechanical Engineer Jobs

TRL11 is a venture backed startup looking to bring cutting edge video technology to the space economy. We are based in Irvine, CA.
We are currently seeking a Aerospace Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position will work closely with our Senior Engineers and is an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong CAD skills and some experience in aerospace design. You will be designing and optimizing enclosures, mechanisms, and electromechanical components that will need to survive and perform in a harsh space-based environment.
Responsibilities:

• Adhere to and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Work with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and efficiency in production.
• Generate and review technical documentation, including specifications and manuals.
• Conduct stress and thermal analysis on your designs optimize them for each mission.
• Utilize CAD software to design and refine electro-mechanical components and systems.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to design, develop, and optimize designs.
• Participate in design reviews and other team meetings.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
• Minimum 2-3 years of hands on experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficiency in CAD software (Fusion360, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) is essential.
• Self-motivated with a drive for continual learning and improvement.
• Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
