We are currently seeking a Materials/Metallurgical Engineer for our Materials and Corrosion Engineering Practice in Bowie, MD. In this role you will work as part of a team to conduct materials, metallurgical, and mechanical failure investigations, field inspections, and perform materials characterization and specialized testing.

You will be responsible for:

• Effective communication of results to technical and non-technical staff and clients
• Conducting field inspections
• Conducting hands-on failure analyses
• Planning, coordinating, and executing laboratory testing
• Materials characterization, metallurgical analysis

You will have the following skills and qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of failure analysis desired
• Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute to the team
• Strong background in materials characterization techniques (e.g. metallography, SEM, EDS, FIB, and/or X-ray radiography/diffraction, etc.) is required
• Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering
