Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Position Overview

Under the direction, of the VB Plant Manager this position leads and manage the production planning and procurement process for the plant. Performs activities ensuring the accomplishments of production, customer service, quality, and cost related objectives, and the compliance with the “HCL” quality product certifications: Underwriters Laboratories, Canadian Standards Association, and compliance with the established Quality System as required by the International Standardization Organization 9001:2015. Gives complete support to Manufacturing Supervisors, Managers and Associates in activities focused to the promotion, training, maintenance and sustainment of continuous improvement in all processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishes and implements necessary controls to keep expenditures within approved budget.
  • Directs continue efforts toward cost reduction for purchase parts to impact the company PPV.
  • Initiates and assists in the evaluation and preparation of “HCL” Authority for Expenditure (AFE) documentation for cost reduction and improvement projects related to Materials areas.
  • Identifies, recommends, implements, and documents improvements in procedures, methods, or equipment to meet or exceed the established Cost Reduction Plan goals.
  • Contributes to all the other Business Unit in efforts to reduce or eliminate scrap, and evaluate, respond, and implement corrective actions to resolve customer complaints
  • Responsible for inventory reduction strategies consistent with Hubbell requirements and to assure preparation for periods of high and low product demands.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or designee.
  • Prepares periodic reports and track KPI’s to take necessary corrective actions if needed.
  • Reviews performance and establish goals and metrics. Also, recommends or makes determination on such matters as promotions, transfers, hiring, disciplinary actions, etc. Provides and ensures for a high level of training and skill proficiency among subordinates.
  • Responsible for service metrics, fill rate, MTS and MTO.
  • Direct production planning and scheduling to meet customer timelines.
  • Directs all activities related to the purchasing of inventory items such as raw materials, components, and or sub-assemblies establishes and maintaining systems for control and cost management of purchased items.

Education, Skills and Experience

  • Computer literate.
  • Oral and Written comprehension, communicates effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials, or Business Administration or related filed is required. MBA is preferable.
  • Coordination, adjust actions in relation to other actions
  • Active Listening giving full attention to what other people saying, taking time to understand, asking questions as appropriate
  • Complex Problem Solving
  • Minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years’ experience with Materials within a manufacturing environment preferably at Electrical or Electronic manufacturing.
  • SAP advance knowledge required.
  • Good communications skills written and verbal in the Spanish/English languages.
