It is one of five Berkeley Lab user facilities that serve a combined 14,000 users annually. The ALS has been a global leader in soft x-ray science for more than two decades and is currently undergoing a large-scale upgrade (ALS-U) that will endow the facility with state-of-the-art x-ray capabilities. It's an exciting time to join our team!

  • Ensure timely delivery of all incoming deliveries to the end recipient/location
  • Assist in resolving vendor and Purchase order receipt problems
  • Enforce and establish safety guidelines and promote a safe and healthy workplace daily
  • Process notification receipts for material that is delivered directly to the requester and provide receipt status to requesters
  • Prepare and arrange for package shipping under the guidance of the ALS-U Logistics Lead
  • Transport orders/packages using lab vehicles
  • Inspect, accept, and stage items per direction from ALS-U technical team and/or the Inventory and Mechanical Technician Leads
  • Utilize the ALS-U project inventory management system (EZOI) to enter receipt information into the database and generate barcodes
  • Proactively develop solutions for complex problems and recommend appropriate courses of action
  • Operate a forklift during the unloading and loading of trucks containing sensitive research equipment

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • 4 years of directly related experience

Desired Qualifications:
