Position Overview

The Procurement Specialist will leverage best practices to ensure that we have a robust supplier relationship management process and that all purchased items meet the negotiated terms and specifications. They will support the sourcing process from supplier selection through delivery of materials and will collaborate with stakeholders to maximize supplier relationships and drive improvements in total value. In addition, they will lead all details associated with the supply of materials and components for production, including ensuring that our ERP system is up to date and accurate.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Market Research - Gather market intelligence to understand industry trends and supplier trends. Develop, maintain, and present category profiles as needed to support contracting and a multi-year roadmap by category.
• Supplier Research – Work with Procurement management and internal clients to identify, research, and make recommendations for potential suppliers.
• Supplier Management – Work with internal clients and suppliers to build strong supplier relationships with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Sourcing Process – Prepare and initiate RFI / RFP / RFQ proposals with guidance from Procurement management. Act as the owner for all sourcing templates, data, and supplier engagement. Own all supplier onboarding processes.
• ERP / MRP Management – Support with the translation of the forecast into a material resource plan and ensure that all Purchase Quotes and Purchase Orders are accurate and communicated to suppliers. Frequently reviews supply and demand and recommends / places new orders, or pushes orders out needed.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.
• Able to work independently with a high level of accuracy.
• Able to work cohesively with multiple departments and teams.
• Able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of purchasing strategies.
• Exceptional computer skills, including advanced capability in Microsoft Excel and other data manipulation tools.
• Experience with multiple ERP systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration or equivalent with 1-3 years of Purchasing / Supply Chain experience, or without a bachelor’s degree, 5-7 years of Purchasing / Supply Chain experience.
• Experience working in manufacturing supply chain for consumer products.

This position may be located in a home/office environment with periodic trips to the Santa Barbara corporate office, manufacturing locations, and suppliers.

If the position applied to is not located in Colorado, NYC, or California, the following information may not apply. Salary Minimum: $58,196 Salary Maximum $75,203. The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the Kate Farms salary range for this position. This range will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, internal pay alignment, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Kate Farms’ total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long- term incentives.
