The Manager of Manufacturing Engineering will provide leadership and guidance in the development and implementation of product and process improvements for optimal and efficient operation of new and existing products and processes.

Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the company's procedures.

Support current production, providing technical solutions to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity goals.

Lead and support Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives, manufacturing documentation, data collection and analytics for review of processes, equipment requirements and new product launches.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Manufacturing plants and Operations Team to drive continuous improvement of ongoing manufacturing processes, utilizing lean and six sigma principles and methodologies to drive targeted improvements in EHS, product quality, speed and consistency of fulfillment, total cost and process innovation.
• Drive Design for Manufacturability best practices and work closely with New Product Development and Product Management teams to assure smooth launches of new products into the market.
• Prepare analysis of production efficiencies against standard costs and works with the plants staff to improve efficiencies in underperforming operations. Organizes and leads projects centered on productivity improvements in these processes. Defines variables and outlines plans to reduce process variance to improve material and labor efficiencies.
• Lead, coach and develop staff to effectively establish a mindset of focused and measured continuous improvement utilizing lean and six sigma methodologies.
• Work with the Maintenance teams at each plant to maintain a robust division wide reliability/maintenance program to increase the overall equipment effectiveness.
• Identify, recommend, and manage the implementation of new and upgraded manufacturing technology to continually improve our manufacturing techniques.
• Manage the overall budget for the Manufacturing Engineering Organization as well as the annual Capital Projects budget to ensure achievement of financial goals and targets, as well as drive improved return on investment for the organization.

Education

• Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Management.
• CI leadership role in multi plant environment desired

Experience

• 10-15 years in a Plant or Staff Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering position.
• Experience in maintenance programs ( Preferred )
• Previous Managerial Experience in a Multi Plant Environment required.

Certifications/Designations

• Project Management Certification preferred.
• Green Belt in Lean Sigma Required, Black Belt in Lean Sigma preferred.
