Process Engineering Analytics, Manager - Production Control

What To Expect
Role:
As the Manager of Process Engineering Analytics, the manager will lead the team of Logistics System experts. The team is responsible for the systems used to receive, signal, replenish, and transact material to the Production lines. You will have a broad understanding of material flow and supply chain concepts, ERP systems, and lead a team of engineers and work cross-functionally with multiple departments such as IT, Supply Planning, Operations, Finance, to solve challenging problems and system limitations impacting productivity. In addition to managing the team, this team member will be required to configure, troubleshoot and analyze the software for sustaining operations, continuous improvements, and major program and process launches and train new team members. You will also be required to work with the software development teams to communicate issues and drive functionality improvements. You will also be launching the Production Control Orientation and Training program for incoming associates.

What You’ll Do
Responsibilities:

Attends to daily department start up meetings to report out on any issue from the prior 24 hours related to systems and configuration.

Determines quarterly priorities and system improvement projects, generates project timeline charts and tracks execution with the team

Works cross-functionally to remove roadblocks and resolve problems that are hindering the progress of the projects.

Designs and improves UI and UX for Tesla’s Material Flow Software with focus on Replenishment Call-Off systems, Warehousing and Conveyance

Conducts Root Cause Analysis and recommends corrective actions on software/systems related issues impacting day to day operations

Assists in creating Work Instructions/User Manual on utilizing the software effectively, training and evaluating departmental personnel.

Launches and manages the orientation and training program for associates onboarded to the department, which includes theoretical and practical training

Assists supervisors, material handlers and technicians as an expert in Tesla’s Material Flow Software and Configuration

Works in fast paced operational environment with constant interaction with operations and technicians

Plans, designs, coordinates and manages to completion capital and continuous improvement projects to meet quality, productivity and cost objectives consistent with departmental goals.

Organizes the team’s SQL Queries and Tableau and other Visualization Dashboards tracking Performance KPI’s for warehousing and conveyance

Schedules workforce in creating new dashboards and KPI metrics and reports out on estimate completion timelines to department management

Drives inter-departmental initiatives and changes to material flow physical and systematical processes with the goal of cost reduction and process improvement

Working knowledge of design/development of manufacturing systems with emphasis on supply chain m

What You’ll Bring
Requirements:

Engineering degree or equivalent experience.

10 years related manufacturing experience, 3+ years management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Experience with process improvement methodologies to optimize efficiency and throughput.

Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines.

In-depth understanding of mechanical and standardized processes.

Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assembly environment.

Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.

A strong sense of urgency and commitment to ship product.
