Job Description
The New York Red Bulls are one of 28 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, have competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.


The New York Red Bulls prides itself on innovation, always looking to evolve the sport and the sporting experience. To that end, the team is growing its Business Strategy & Analytics department, which harnesses the power of data, applied analytics, and technology to lead improved decision-making across all main business functions.


The Manager, Strategy will develop quantitative analyses to support revenue generating and operational departments of the New York Red Bulls and Red Bull Arena. You will provide data and reporting to inform decision-making on areas including, ticketing, marketing, communications, partnerships, and operations. You will design work flows, manage and provide solutions to new business ideas, trends, and concepts. You will report to Senior Director, Strategy Analytics.

Responsibilities


Gathers, synthesizes and produces management information and reporting as requested within organization in a timely, accurate and consistent manner. Researches and prepares statistical reports using data from processes and surveys and consolidates information into cohesive and understandable correspondence for decision-making. Utilize primary and secondary market ticket data to make ticketing recommendations. You will evaluate buying behavior trends across marketing channels to make recommendations for effectiveness of various marketing tactics and campaigns. Ad hoc analysis of business and operational questions; may include: Revenue forecasting and trend analysis on ticket sales Tracks customer behavior, analyze fan segments and the lifetime value of a fan Tracks and improves the effectiveness of various marketing tactics/campaigns.


Your areas of knowledge and expertise


that matter most for this role:


  • Have a full grasp of understanding of regression, modeling, and forecasting
  • Deep experience working with business visualization programs (Tableau, Business Objects, Domo, etc)
  • Expert in PowerPoint and Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
  • 4+ years business analyst/strategy experience (must have some portion of that from a client/corporate role)
  • Leader in translating data into compelling, visual stories that speak to diverse audiences (senior leadership, research novices, unconventional marketers, etc.)
