About the Role:
OLAPLEX Product Marketing Manager will support the Director of Product Marketing in the development of strong product positioning, product marketing strategy and marketing concept development. They will contribute to the GTM process by identifying consumer insight, white space opportunities, and distribution channels. The Manager, Product Marketing will also play a key role in ensuring key milestones are met, the progress is well documented and organized and the cross-functional teams are informed.
DEFINE & IMPLEMENT PRODUCT STRATEGY:
- Work hand in hand with cross functional partner groups to bring new programs to market, including but not limited to Product Development, Packaging, Design, Creative, Education, Consumer Marketing, PR for finished goods, kits, sampling, branded merch
- Manage program development to ensure programs are on time, within budget and meet strategic objectives
- Identify new product concepts based on new technologies, market trends and category/franchising opportunities leveraging a category management skill set
- Support in development of Product Marketing of overall haircare objectives, strategies and 3-year innovation pipeline, considering strategic fit with brand.
- Serve as the source for all category related information and perform SKUs and portfolio analyses (COGS, line edit, pricing, sampling, competitive analysis, new product forecasts, brand and competitor copy and claims)
- Drive development of product strategy, leveraging expertise of Brand Marketing, Education, Communications and PR teams to build awareness and engagement ensuring excellence in execution
- Assist in the development of an 18-month launch calendar with innovative market strategies to drive sales and market share
- Lead the development and management of the brand’s global sampling strategy working with cross functional teams for forecasts
PROMOTIONAL ASSORTMENT & ACTIVATIONS:
- Define sample strategy and work on basic portfolio consistency working with cross functional teams for forecasts
- Continue to support annual promotional product assortment strategy and analysis for all global channels including DTC, speciality (Sephora, Ulta), and Professional
- Develop a full menu of promotional (gift sets, GWPs) and collateral items in-line with key competitive brands as well as within the brand aesthetic
- Conduct competitive benchmark to define product mix
- Maintain timelines to ensure promotional programs are launched on time
- Coordinate activities towards product launch including artwork, mockups, copy etc.
- Lead the development of Globally produced kits & set development and strategy, including promotional kits (non-holiday), Holiday kits, GWPs, branded merchandise, sampling program, limited edition packaging/partnerships ensuring all global needs are met while driving the company’s sustainability goals
PROJECT MANAGEMENT & MARKET PLANNING:
- Help drive new product messaging and educational support (sell sheets, etc)
- Manage development and handoff of comps and pre production samples for photography, retailer meetings and PR
- Artwork Management: manage artwork creation process, liaise with creative, legal, regulatory to ensure product copy and claims
- Assist Director with annual A&P budget reconciliation and program invoices
- Present product evaluation, trends benefits and key positioning in internal meetings
- Spearhead project briefing to copy team and ensure timely issuance of copy
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams to meet timelines (Regulatory, R&D, Legal)
- Develop and present kit briefs with concept, claims, and messaging hierarchy, ensuring alignment with company goals and vision
- Develop COG estimates to ensure target cost is met throughout the launch process, managing budgets effectively to maximize ROI
- Collaborate with Regional Marketing leads & Ops team to develop and finalize marketing forecast estimates
- Manage program development, timelines, artwork, and production with internal and external (3rd party vendors) parties to ensure programs are on time, within budget & meet strategic objectives; own the process from development to shipping
- Collaborate with international regions to support needs of specific markets and ensure global brand consistency
- Assist Director and broader Marketing team on other select initiatives/deliverables, including Strategy, Sell-in decks & sheets, ad hoc analysis, presentations, etc.
PRODUCT & COMPETITIVE ANALYTICS:
- Help to manage and facilitate meetings with partner teams (internally and externally), executing on relevant actionable items
- Address product questions/issues from markets on distribution, sample timing, product codes, etc.
- Perform SKU and portfolio analysis on an on-going basis and monitor SKU productivity. Leverage sales data to reevaluate SKU tiering and strategy
- Maintain master SKU list with latest discontinuations and new launch SKUs
- Research and track competitors on an ongoing basis; keep abreast of new product launches, promotions, advertising, etc; identify brand-relevant recommendations & opportunities
- Competitive Analysis: track new launches in tracker, evaluate competitive offerings, assortments, pricing
- Create annual product performance recaps / post-mortem reports, highlight potential white space areas for innovation and opportunities for SKU consolidation
About You:
- Able to take ownership of projects, work independently and use initiative to find solutions
- Experience with global marketing or international cultural exposure a plus
- Beauty experience required; preferred Marketing experience within Prestige/Luxury industry
- Detail oriented, ability to multitask and handle a broad range of projects
- Strong analytical, organizational, project management skills
- Ability to work on a lean team with a fast-growing business (i.e. entrepreneurial environment)
- Excellent written and oral communications
- Be able to effectively drive projects forwards with a solution-focused mindset and ability to think laterally
- Team player with the ability to build, foster and nurture relationships with members of cross functional teams
- 5-7 years experience in product development, product marketing, or innovation role
- College degree

The annual base pay for this position is $81,500 - $112,200. The actual base pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, years of relevant experience, skill level, functional expertise, certificates or other professional licenses held and geographic location.
