Key Responsibilities
With over 80,000 employees located around the world, the role of Employee Communications is critical to the Corporate Communications strategy. The Manager - Operational Communications is responsible for supporting a team that drives caring, clear, honest and relatable communications to make sure our frontline employees can confidently and effectively serve our customers and align with United’s goals and mission. They will develop strategies, create and execute projects and advance creative content and channels for the rollout and adoption of new policies, products and tools or to support routine and ad hoc needs of the frontline.
This role will be instrumental in driving, implementing and promoting strategies that represent United’s goals and mission. Additionally, they will monitor the effectiveness of operations communication campaigns and channels, using data to make decisions to elevate engagement with the target audience. Being flexible and adaptable to the ever-evolving and around-the-clock operational needs is important for this role.

• Working with a team to develop content that aligns with our United brand, tone and voice
• Will need to be available to support a team that provides 24/7 on-call coverage for operations communications as needed
• Monitor the effectiveness of operational communications/channels and use analytics and data to make strategic decisions about communications
• Serve as a communication consultant and project manager on enterprise projects, defining communication strategy, assigning departmental resources, working with peers to ensure alignment and advocating for frontline audiences
• Must be flexible and adaptable to evolving in an ever-changing environment and around-the-clock operations
• Work closely with business partners, change management, training and corporate communications to develop and execute integrated, effective communications plans that prepare our frontline to deliver great customer service every day
• Strong editing and collaboration skills

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

• Able to work effectively and efficiently in cross-functional teams
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
• Superior writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt to different writing styles and tones
• Forward-thinking, diligent and creative
• 4+years of corporate, operations or employee communications experience
• Willingness to travel up to 20% throughout the year
• Proactive, detail-oriented and well-organized
• Bachelor's degree (English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field)
• Work in a collaborative environment both remotely and in person
• Able to lead and handle several projects at a time
• Understanding of AP writing style

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

• Email platform systems/Salesforce experience
• HTML coding basics
• Sitecore and/or similar CMS
• Data collection & analysis experience
• 5+ years in project management
• Acrobat Creative Suite
