About the Role:

• Serve as the primary supplier relationship holder for assigned categories
• Partner with the Value Engineering team to identify and manage project timelines to support the overall cost-out goals for the purchasing organization
• Establish cross-functional teams to develop, plan and execute a strategy that ensures a competitive landscape and sustainable supply.
• Ability to understand, communicate and enforce Procurement policies as it pertains to supplier and internal issues.
• Analyze market trends and cost drivers to identify financial and supply risks and opportunities
• Document and drive the supplier strategy to support qualification of new materials and cross qualify new supply sources
• Develop / Facilitate relationships with major players in the marketplace to understand and stay abreast of industry changes which may impact various business management programs as it relates to pricing / technical trends
• Contribute to the development of total cost of ownership models
• Optimize assigned categories by leveraging spend and pricing methodologies utilized throughout the group
• Build a strong rapport with internal stakeholders to communicate the strategy, seek input and buy-in, and contribute to strategy execution
• Conduct supplier accountability meetings by evaluating them with respect to Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Technology targets
• Oversee the accuracy of category cost projections
• Lead the generation of initiatives and projects to deliver on the required productivity targets.
• Development and presentation of category strategies and coverage recommendations
• Responsible and accountable for achievement of targets as defined by management and KPI’s
• Design and execute negotiations with supply base through the contracting process

Important Details: This is a full-time permanent position located in our Oak Brook, IL corporate office on a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite / 2 days remote). There is approximately 20% travel requirements for this role.
About You:
You’ll fit right in if you have:

• Critical thinker, with excellent analytic abilities
• ERP system experience
• Standard Pricing/Forecast
• Bachelor’s degree (Business, Supply Chain, or related field)
• Seven years’ experience in purchasing/procurement/supply chain
• Expert ability with MS Office applications
• 20% of travel required
• Expert in business process reengineering and program / project management
• Strong leadership, initiative, and planning skills.
• Strong people management abilities with superior communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated command of complex sourcing, negotiating, and commodity strategies
