The Manager - Inventory Management supports Merchandising by providing leadership to Fulfillment Planners in executing the inventory strategies and tactics that support the merchandise strategies while optimizing the inventory investment. This Team Member will develop and maintain a strong partnership with Category Directors, Planning, Store and DCs to successfully run the business. This individual will work cross-functionally; interacting with a wide range of departments including Merchandising, Sourcing, Merchandise Planning, Space Planning, Stores, and Supply Chain/Distribution.
Major Activities
Inventory Management
Partner with Merchants and the Merchandise Planning team to ensure team is providing detailed analysis, timely inventory flow, and proper levels of inventory for all Basic programs
Monitor/manage weekly receipts and on order to ensure teams execution of timelines and delivery of service level goals
Manage the configuration and optimization of the JDA Fulfillment in coordination with the Director of Inventory Management to achieve inventory strategies and goals
Proactively communicate issues and resolutions to Merchandising, Planning, Supply Chain and Store Support concerning inventory levels, shipments and receipts that impact POG sets and service levels
Analysis
Accountable for providing actionable analysis and recommendations to Category Directors and Director of Inventory Management to inform business decisions.
Assortment analysis to inform SBA purchase plan and reset decisions.
Financial/Metrics
Accountable for inventory turn and WOS in store vs DC.
Accountable for in stock levels and service levels for departments of responsibility.
Leadership
Drive accountability with inventory analysts to seek out opportunities to maximize performance as well as improve processes
Provide leadership and training to Fulfillment Planner through coaching and development in the following areas:
Creating/maintaining replenishment plans using historical data, market trends, seasonality and space change data.
Effectively using the parameters in JDA fulfillment for optimal ordering and service levels in stores
Analytical evaluation of POGs
Accountable for proactive communication to Category Management, Planning, Supply Chain/Logistics, Store Operations, the vendor community and all other cross functional teams as to share information and ensure clarity and proper execution.
Encourage two-way communication and promote shared learning
Actively work with cross-functional Team Members to create a positive and pro-active working environment. Achieve active participation through effective leadership skills rather than compliance.

Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills
Proficient MS Excel abilities
Minimum Type of experience the job requires
5-7 years in Inventory Management, Allocation or Merchandising in the retail industry
Planning and replenishment system experience

Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
Strong leadership capability and ability to influence decision making process
Preferred Education
BS in Business, Finance, Retail or related field preferred
Business, logistics, finance or supply chain preferred
Preferred Special Certifications or technical skills
Demonstrate a working knowledge in JDA Fulfilment E-3, MFP, EXCEL, BAAM, RETEK and ACCESS a plus
