Job Description
Position Description

The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for ordering, receiving, stocking, tracking, and delivering supplies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs routine clerical duties such as data entry onto spreadsheets and completing forms.
  • Receives inventory stock from a variety of vendors.
  • Fills inventory requests.
  • Participates in monthly physical inventories of fixed assets in Harris County facilities.
  • Oversees inmates assigned to assist with inventory related functions, such as moving furniture.
  • Will be required to drive county vehicle to various work sites to deliver supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Experience:
  • One (1) year work experience handling bulk merchandise in a warehouse or retail environment.
  • One (1) year experience working in a warehouse.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to receive CJIS clearance, pass a security check and a drug test, as required. This position is Safety Sensitive and will be subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer keyboard and have a working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Windows and Office, and office machines such as copier and fax machine.
Licensure:
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.

General Information

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
  • 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day within normal core office hours, but also subject to early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday work as required.
Location:
  • 601 Lockwood Dr. Houston, TX 77011
Salary:
  • Commensurate with experience
  • Based on 26 Pay Periods
Work Environment:
  • May work on ladders and scaffolding, work in cramped and awkward positions, be exposed to dust, mold, and mildew, be required to lift 35 lbs. overhead, and work around and/or with inmate workers.
  • Will work in a typical office environment with reasonable climate control; will also work in a warehouse environment with no air conditioning and minimal heating.

Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
