What You Need To Know


  • The National Operations Grant Manager, as a member of the NHQ Long-Term Recovery branch, will support grant programs on nationally managed long-term recovery operations, covering a diversity of communities and breadth of recovery needs. The position will oversee grant operations from initial strategy and application, through monitoring and close, and ensure compliance with internal standards and processes, as well as operational requirements. The National Operations Grant Manager will work with long-term recovery leadership and other internal stakeholders to develop operational strategy and evaluate potential partnerships and projects against identified individual and community recovery priorities, as well broader organizational goals and programmatic development. This position will also coordinate and collaborate with Disaster Relief leadership to execute response phase Rapid Impact Grants, providing subject matter expertise and grant cycle management.


This is a limited term position ending October 2024.


WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD


  • Ensure regular oversight and monitoring of all active grants, through regular grantee partner meetings, site visits, report reviews, and other progress monitoring tools. Provide timely notification of challenges and opportunities for successful rescoping to internal leadership.
  • The salary range for this position is $ $79,575.00 -$95,490.00
  • Engage in ongoing learning and identification of emerging trends related to community recovery practices to support opportunities for innovation and inclusion in Long-Term Recovery grant programming.
  • Support applicants and grantees throughout grant cycle, providing guidance and technical support, to ensure proposed projects are in alignment with Red Cross operational and organizational priorities.
  • Coordinate with Long-Term Recovery team, Disaster Finance, and other internal stakeholders, to ensure grant compliance, and accuracy of financial and programmatic reporting.
  • Collaborate with Long-Term Recovery, operational, and other internal stakeholders to incorporate community recovery needs and priorities into operational grants strategy.
  • Participate in Long-Term Recovery program projects, ongoing refinement and development of Long-Term Recovery programs processes and tools, such as grants system, needs assessment tools, monitoring and reporting dashboards, and other items.
  • 5% travel is required.
  • Produce program reports based on data analysis to evaluate and track program outcomes and impact on affected communities, to support stewardship reporting, leadership briefings, and broader programmatic continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for local Red Cross region or division engagement, including ongoing partnership development and support.
  • Manage the grant portfolio across multiple nationally managed long-term recovery operations, including identifying opportunities with existing and emerging partnerships in disaster affected communities.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned based on operational or programmatic need.

What You Need To Succeed


  • Experience with grants management systems and tools. Experience working with organizations of diverse size and scope. Familiarity with Red Cross response and recovery processes.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required.
  • Strong knowledge of grant management best practices, including financial reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with grants management, preferably in disaster recovery or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related field.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to assess community needs and identify organizational priorities. Ability to identify and resolve challenges, and/or develop alternative solutions. Exhibits sound judgement. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office software and grants management systems and tools.
