Job Description
About The Job
Under the supervision of the Supply Chain and Logistics (SCL) Manager, this position is responsible for managing and supervising our 1st shift logistics team.
The supervisor is responsible for training and supporting the SCL employees to ensure we provide quality work, in a clean, safe and efficient manner. They will develop and implement processes to ensure compliance with company policies/procedures, continual process improvement and drive employee initiatives to create and promote an environment where employees are involved and committed to the success of the Company.
Team Supervision
  • Create an environment that supports open lines of communication with cross functional departments.
  • Manages and supervises Logistics team Including the Product Assessment, warehouse, quality, shipping and receiving Specialists
  • Focus on cross-training and team agility
Profile
Logistics & Supply Chain
  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse & shipping areas.
  • Design and implement strategies to ensure work force is flexible and can respond to variations in workflow.
  • Participate in department projects and continuous improvement.
  • Provides direct support to manufacturing operations through managing incoming requirements and scheduling of production work orders
  • Work and communicate with DC to follow up on day-to-day workflow for stock refresh and reverse flow.
  • Leads the supply chain team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide direct supervision & coaching to supply chain team.
  • Support Direct to Client and Store Support teams on Logistics inquiries and client escalations.
  • Ensure that the performance goals are set and achieved, through the proper execution of performance metrics as it relates to Productivity, Safety, Quality and Customer Service.
  • Work closely with employees to communicate and educate on work instructions, policies, procedures and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support second shift production team on all supply chain and logistics requests.
  • Provide leadership for non-exempt employees that both maximize and optimize resources in support of the company’s goals and objectives in serving clients.
  • Implement appropriate safety guidelines and investigate injuries or unsafe conditions.
Operations:
  • Communicate, support, maintain and ensure adherence to department and company standards, policies and procedures; providing feedback on discrepancies and needed changes.
  • Monitor staff adherence to time and attendance, dress code and work environment guidelines.
  • Support the overall business, convey enthusiasm and passion, share information and mentoring, improve operations, define and implement action plans to enhance performance.
  • Ensure business opportunities are maximized through efficient floor management, being a visible presence and support, exploring creative solutions that will benefit the client and the brand.
  • Proactively provide manager with recommendations and feedback regarding overall opportunities, leveraging expertise and knowledge within the team.
  • Foster cross-department collaboration by working closely with supervisors, managers, etc.
Team Support and Development:
  • Support manager by defining performance targets, providing consistent coaching, helping to identify the team’s development and training needs, and offering suggestions for individual action plans
  • Assist manager by making recommendations in identifying, recruiting and developing talents, securing succession plans in collaboration with manager.
  • Execute necessary training and coaching to ensure commitment to KPI metric targets.
  • Lead and motivate the team to drive business: create a positive and harmonious work environment, build a strong team spirit and foster cooperation within the team and between managers.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish fluency is a plus
  • Ability to multi-task to make quality and timely decisions.
  • High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree is a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational and basic math skills.
  • Systems aptitude, including proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Willingness to learn (customs laws, systems and computer skills)
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to develop and maintain relationships
