Logistics Manager-Central Jobs

The Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations related to Logistics for North
America which includes the movement of both finished goods and raw materials. This position requires an
individual to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize their workload with the ever-changing demands.
The Logistics Manager is also responsible for managing their team and cultivate that talent through teaching,
coaching and development.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop, update and document standard operating procedures
• Based on data analysis, work with management to optimize carrier selection, lanes, and call out data that does not align with current SOP’s.
• Resolve any arising problems or complaints
• Supervise, coach and train the US Logistics team
• Monitor and establish key performance metrics to ensure supply chain costs are in line with goals
• Work independently and have excellent time management skills
• Administer monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews internally and with 3rd party logistic providers
• Analyze data and design new deployment models as needed
• Build and maintain business relationships internally and externally to improve overall supply chain flow and drive process improvements
• Ability to manage the pressures and stress associated with a deadline-oriented atmosphere and customer service issues
• Utilizing SAP and TMS system daily
• Ensure data being analyzed and presented is accurate
• Address internal and external customer issues
• Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance of 3rd party logistic providers and implement improvements as needed
• Negotiate rates with carriers; Work with carriers to ensure data integrity and accuracy
• Ensure that quality of service and customer satisfaction are being met
• Manage freight lane data within TMS system
• Lead process for setting up new lanes in TMS as needed

Position Requirements:

• Be a team player and enjoys working in a team environment but complete their own deliverables on a daily basis.
• Demonstrate ability to lead and manage staff
• Reliable and willing to learn
• SAP experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A least 5 years’ experience in the field of logistics or transportation operations
• Positive attitude, self-motivated and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Advanced analytical skills preferred
• Proven working experience as a logistics manager
• BS in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain
• Ability to follow standard operation procedures with little to no oversight
• Experience with a TMS implementation preferred
• Superior attention to detail
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
• Must be able to understand issues and help create solutions

Pay Range $76,300 - $89,800
