Job Description
What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and deeply process oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our growing supply chain team. In the Logistics Coordinator role, you will manage day to day operations of domestic and international shipments to support Tesla’s newest factory producing the largest, densest battery storage device in the world, the Megapack. To be a successful candidate for this role you should be a self-motivated, driven individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and engaging cross-functionally within Tesla and across the extended supply chain.

What You’ll Do
  • Coordination of oversized and dangerous goods cargo for export shipments for the Tesla Megapack.
  • Manage global service shipping lanes out of factory sites and ensure the stakeholder is provided with excellent service throughout the shipment process including quick response to inquiries and problem resolution.
  • Work cross-functionally with planning, manufacturing, distribution, procurement, service, and other organizations to meet key business goals and drive operational excellence.
  • Ensure that export process follows company and industry quality assurance standards (CI, Customs, etc.).
  • Identify and correctly label hazardous materials and provide DG paperwork to vendors and/or training to internal Tesla teams.
  • Data entry.
  • Booking and coordination of most cost effective and efficient means to export goods within expected requirements.
  • Schedule pick-ups with carriers and monitor shipments in transit.
  • Write or revise standard operating procedures (SOP) for logistics processes.
  • Process and correct miscellaneous accounting issues.
What You’ll Bring
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to achieve success in situations with high degrees of variation and complexity.
  • Flexible schedule (may work some off hours or overtime required)
  • Computer skills are required (use of Word, Excel, and Outlook programs).
  • If not already DG Certified, ability to attend and successfully complete DG certification course (Tesla provided).
  • Self-driven initiative to gain and implement a broad knowledge of logistics best practices.
  • DG Certifications, preferred.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or logistics.
