The Logistics Manager serves as key point of contact and collaborative lead for management of freight, warehouse logistics, 3PL warehouse operations and inventory management. Expected to drive cost reductions through intense management of logistics carriers and use of properly priced 3PL partners. Will implement and drive KPI use for management of Logistics and Inventory through exception management.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following:

  • Assist Accounts Receivable with shortage reports and customer claims
  • Conduct RFQs and update freight pricing every quarter, striving for reduced costs and improved OTIF
  • Provide backup coverage for Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) and support all export activities
  • Manage relationship and performance within assigned 3PL’s operations while reducing cost
  • Support customer portal validations for each site and act as subject matter expert for SK Food Group
  • Manage and execute all freight requests including shipping updates and component pick-ups
  • Execute EDI transmissions as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Responsibility for individual plants to network wide operations with expectation of management of logistics process from end to end of SK supply chain.
  • Evaluate FSMA compliance with current and new SK Food Group carrier groups
  • Oversee freight claims and customer returns process, collaborate with QA teams regarding disposition of said inventory
  • Manage transportation aspects of onboarding new customers and sail schedules to achieve on-time delivery. Collaboration with sales and supply chain management to reduce landed costs for customers
  • This position will require up to 40% travel to all warehouses, 3PL and/or plant locations
  • Resolve all issues and escalations raised by internal or external customers regarding on-time delivery and service levels, manage OTIF data gathering and analysis
  • Present KPI’s, cost savings, strategic orientation, and continuous improvement to Executive Leadership Team.
  • Manage inventory levels at differing nodes in network while collaborating with Demand Planning team
  • Manage transfer requests between SK sites along w/ accuracy of inventory transferred
  • Manages critical shipments daily for “On Time Delivery” KPI, communicating with internal and external customers regarding landed dates
  • Develop and manage reporting to communicate inventory health, value, and adjustment throughout organization
  • Manage the function of sales order processing and inventory reconciliation at all 3PL’s and Warehouses
  • Run monthly reports for month end activities and reconcile any and all variances


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be proficient with WMS or ERP systems, must have integrate knowledge of ERP transactions and integration with outside parties. Experience with X3 is preferred
  • Ability to motivate others and work effectively in a team environment with direct reports, lateral colleges and senior level executives
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, MBA preferred; and at least 8 years of related experience and/or training in a Distribution, Supply Chain leadership and/or Transportation in food or related industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have ability to manage EDI, ERP, WMS, and Food Safety Software.
  • Working knowledge of logistics systems and processes along with best practices and customer relationship management
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Apply analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to reduce cost and improve operational efficiency
  • Working knowledge of supply chain management and transportation
  • Must have working experience with Canadian export requirements and ability to manage border challenges
  • Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally with customers to resolve conflict and perform negotiations for most efficient operations and best in class cost
