In this role, you will pioneer initiatives to enhance the cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and precision of goods movement, while cultivating productive partnerships with carriers and other service providers. At the heart of our operations, you will be a driving force behind improved visibility, comprehensive metrics, detailed KPIs, and insightful carrier scorecards.

Responsibilities:

• Orchestrating collaborative efforts with carriers and other transportation service providers to negotiate contracts and service level agreements for both domestic and international operations.

• Enforcing carrier compliance with service standards and contractual commitments, while driving service improvements.

• Applying analytical expertise to streamline transportation routes and strategies, boosting efficiency, reducing costs, and optimizing delivery timelines.

• Supervising the scheduling, tracking, and tracing of shipments to ensure precise and timely delivery.

• Utilizing data analytics to uncover opportunities for process enhancements, cost savings, and service upgrades.

• Serving as a communication hub for internal stakeholders such as procurement, warehouse, and customer service teams, guaranteeing smooth coordination and heightened customer satisfaction.

• Building robust relationships with transportation service providers, nurturing a partnership that is beneficial for all parties.

• Staying abreast of industry trends, market fluctuations, and regulatory alterations impacting domestic and international transportation logistics.

• Crafting comprehensive reports on transportation activities for management and stakeholders, using data-driven insights to guide decision-making.

• Ensuring adherence to all laws, regulations, and company policies governing domestic and international transportation operations.

• Teaming up with cross-functional cohorts to amplify process improvements and boost overall supply chain performance.

Education and Skill Requirements:

• Knowledge of Tennessee's transportation infrastructure and local regulations is a plus.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills, with a track record of securing favorable contracts and rates.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation logistics, including different modes of transportation, routing, and pricing structures for domestic and international freight.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with external partners.
• Proficient in using transportation management software and other relevant technology tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to employ data-driven approaches to optimize transportation operations.
• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience (5+ years) in transportation management, with a focus on negotiating freight rates and contracts for both domestic and international shipments.
