This Logistics and Distribution Manager will be responsible for:
- Developing, implementing and communicating quality assurance/quality improvement program and internal policies and procedures ensuring compliance with governmental and hospital health and safety regulations. Monitoring compliance and collaborating with leadership to adjust procedures with staff input
- Coaching and mentoring supervisors and staff in day-to-day operational activities and assuring compliance with all organizational policies. Reviewing and evaluating policies/procedures as necessary
- Developing and monitoring criteria for assessing quality of services provided. Maintaining related documentation, identifying and evaluating trends and issues, recommending corrective measures and preparing periodic management reports as required. Working with vendors as required ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions
- Managing program for maintaining centralized inventory of critical supplies requiring on-site accessibility. Developing systems, procedures and controls for maintaining, monitoring and distributing adequate, cost-efficient quantities of needed items. Working with hospital departments to establish appropriate PAR levels of on-site supplies and ensuring compliance with program
- Assisting department director in planning and preparing capital budget. Monitoring and maintaining capital and expense budgets for areas of responsibility, researching and resolving variances. Identifying, evaluating and recommending cost saving opportunities
- Identifying equipment rental and intra-hospital resources and maintaining resource log for dispatch staff. Guiding in the acquisition of special needs patient care equipment. Collaboration with other departments to assure patient care equipment needs are met
- Operating the stockless inventory program. Working with vendors, buyers and departments to coordinate distribution of supplies. Maintaining records and documentation and preparing periodic management reports
- Keeping abreast of new products, management tools and industry trends and practices. Participating in teams to identify products and equipment for evaluation. Coordinating and facilitating clinical and non-clinical new product equipment evaluations. Helping develop evaluation protocol and analyzing results
- Working with Finance department to maintain and update accurate capital asset records. Assuring all new equipment is properly identified for asset tracking. Performing periodic equipment inventory. Managing the disposition of obsolete equipment, by donation, resale or disposal
- Overseeing receipt, storage and distribution of supplies and equipment. Ensuring maintenance of related records and documentation via electronic or manual systems. Developing, recommending and implementing methods and procedures to enhance timeliness and cost-effectiveness of services
To qualify, you must have:
- The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations
- An Associate’s degree in Business Administration, or related field is required
- The analytical skills necessary to resolve problems requiring professional knowledge in a specific discipline/field

- Five years’ of related experience is required
