Union Square Events is looking for Cooks ($22/h to $26/h) to join their growing team!

Founded in 2005 as Hudson Yards Catering, Union Square Events is a culinary and operations leader in the hospitality industry, partnering with a diverse portfolio of best-in-class clients. We produce one-of-a-kind catered events and unparalleled dining experiences in various cultural, corporate, entertainment, and private venues throughout New York City and beyond.

Who you are: Union Square Events is searching for talented Cooks for our high-volume commissary in Industry City, Brooklyn. The recently built, state-of-the-art facility, boasts 70,000 square feet of space with windows all around in addition to an employee dining room that has a daily hot buffet and salad bar. We currently offer daytime hours alongside two consecutive days off and a wide range of opportunities for growth.

Production Cooks collaborate in the production of food as well as supporting all aspects of the production and packaging of products. We produce food for anything from a 5-course tasting menu, to bulk production for stadiums and arenas, and everything in between. We are looking for Cooks with a background in any of the following areas- Restaurants, Catering, Commissary kitchens, B&I, and Retail Kitchens. Most importantly, we are searching for employees who are not only talented but excited to learn and grow with our company while upholding the values that our business is built upon.

What you’ll do:

• Promote teamwork and excellence amongst the kitchen team.
• Demonstrate an eagerness to refine techniques and a desire to learn and grow continually.
• Display working knowledge of all ingredients and preparations
• Consistently ensure that the station is prepped, and stocked throughout the shift and remains clean and organized.

What we need from you:

• English fluency and additional languages are preferred, but not required
• 1+ years in a Cook position
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time
