The learning designer will leverage their deep familiarity with the most up-to-date theory and best practice for online synchronous learning, adapted for an adult learner population consisting of individuals 50+, to develop online course materials using WordPress and other software.

In partnership with instructors, the learning designer will participate in course building exercises each term, bringing user-design experience and an understanding of the priorities and expectations of our program to the process. This includes, but is not limited to, individual development meetings with instructors to provide feedback and guidance as appropriate on course structure, flow, and materials. It also includes the development of individual course websites each term and training for instructors on how to use the website to foster engagement and interaction among course participants. Finally, it is expected that the learning designer will attend in-session courses at the beginning and mid-point of each term to gather relevant information and provide real-time support and guidance for improvement to instructors as necessary.

As a key member of our team, the learning designer will participate in team meetings, collaborate on the development and delivery of stakeholder trainings, support videos, and handbooks, and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
