Your impact
- Lead Instructors play a key role in driving elements of Correlation One's multiple training programs. They will train Fellows in Correlation One's programs and work with company operations personnel to drive exceptional learning outcomes. Their main focus as educators will be in larger format lectures, training anywhere from 20 to 2,000 Fellows, live, depending on the program.
A day in the life
- Offer additional expertise and resources from the Cybersecurity community.
- Lead the instruction of a "virtual classroom" within a larger program; these typically consist of between 200-5000 Fellows (though potentially many more, depending on the program); instruction purview includes:
- Live lectures are run via Zoom on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1:30 - 4:00pm ET from July 17 to November 17.
- In some cases, Instructors can create case work and curriculum, when interested and for additional compensation.
- Prior to the program launch, instructors complete the required instructor training. There are 22 lectures scheduled over the 18 program weeks. Lectures are two hours in length. You will share the teaching responsibility of these 22 lectures with another Lead Instructor. Lectures are virtual – taught over Zoom and other virtual learning technologies like Slack.
- Instruct Fellows using Cybersecurity content provided Correlation One
- Prepare in advance for all assigned live sessions and provide curricular input and feedback ahead of sessions.
Your expertise
- An excellent educator with a passion for teaching and helping others
- Experience working with the Unix terminal, especially with cybersecurity-related applications
- 3+ years of experience in the Cybersecurity field with a degree or strong credentials
- Previous teaching experience, preferably in a remote environment
- Outstanding team and people management skills
- Familiarity with the following topics: Networking, Kali Linux, Endpoint security, CompTIA Security+ Certification training, Triage
- Degree in a technical field and / or industry experience in a technical role; post-graduate and research work at top institutions are also strong pluses
Where you are
- This role is remote and can be located anywhere that is compatible with the EST time zone. We are headquartered in New York City and have office space in Midtown Manhattan.
Compensation
Compensation is provided on a per lecture basis at $500 per 2.5 hour lecture, which includes an anticipated 2 hours of preparation per lecture. With this program having 3 lectures per week and 18 weeks, dividing the lectures among two Lead Instructors would result in a total compensation around $13,500 depending on total number of assigned lectures.
