Lead Baseball Instructor Jobs

The Mariners Training Center Lead Instructor is responsible for implementing the highest quality training and instruction program for youth athletes and teams under the direction of the Program Manager. As a lead instructor you are responsible for planning the setup, flow of training, ensuring instructing staff knows the curriculum being taught, maintaining positive perception, and enhancing each player's understanding of the game, rules, and techniques by embracing the mission and culture of the Mariners Training Center.

MTC is the proud youth baseball and softball training partner of Major League Baseball.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
• Ensure all MTC customers feel welcome and receive responsive, friendly, and courteous service.
• Establish, build, grow & maintain relationships with leaders, individuals, and businesses within the local community to grow the program and sell PoweredBy/Training programs for teams/groups and individuals.
• Work with other departments (Accounting, Marketing, Sales, etc.) in day-to-day operations as needed to grow programs.
• Participate in any other activities MTC offers throughout the year.
• Ensure accuracy and completion of all lessons logs & recording for accounting.
• Work with Program Manager to mentor and develop Instructors and Coaching staff.
• Responsible for implementing all aspects of MTC's Instruction & Training Programs at facility, mobile locations, and fields per MTC's SOP. Duties include but are not limited to player check-in and attendance, group rotations, time slot turnover, station set up/clean up with instructing staff and curriculum, equipment setup/clean up, and overseeing open hitting times
• Assist the Program Manager and team with all various tasks to support the development of the program (i.e. handing out practice shirts, hats, stickers, etc.)
• Assisting Program Manager in completing administrative tasks, timelines, and other day-to day-operations with Program and PoweredBy teams
• Perform on turf/field training, instruction, and/or performance-related training.
• Protect, build, and promote all MTC brands, programs, and partner organizations by understanding and abiding by MTC policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and guidelines.
• Assist in cleaning, maintaining, preparation, and set up of the facility, equipment, training location at start and completion of training and as needed.
• Assist Program Manager in staff training, and curriculum meetings.

• Knowledge of baseball/Softball with a broad range of skills
• Experience as an instructor is beneficial
• Patience to maintain meaningful relationships with players, parents & coaches
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Supportive and encouraging mindset and attitude
• Willingness and ability to support all areas of instruction
• Ability to set up, tear down, and move around equipment
• Experience playing at the College level preferred
• Strong organizational, planning, & communication skills

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS & TRAVEL

• Frequent local travel required - occasional overnight travel may be required infrequently
• Environments include but are not limited to sports facilities, office space, and recreation fields/parks.
