Job Description

The Statistician reports to the Assistant Dean of Clinical and Educational Scholarship and supports the Office of Clinical and Educational Scholarship within the BSOM Department of Academic Affairs in facilitating medical student and faculty scholarly activity at the Brody School of Medicine. The person in this position will join the Office of Clinical and Educational Scholarship, a central resource for students and faculty at the Brody School of Medicine. They will serve as the primary analyst on scholarly projects, and contribute to design and initiation of new scholarly projects serving the Brody mission. This person will also need to have a strong consultative skillset, be able to develop productive professional relationships with individuals and departments across the university, and use this knowledge to proactively identify opportunities for collaboration, education, and project development. They will be involved in the management of quantitative projects from start to finish, including data gathering, data processing/cleaning, data analysis, presentation of results, and integration of results into final reports or publications.
Consulting on quantitative methodology for research and quality improvement projects related to clinical care, population health, and health professions education.
Selecting and using appropriate statistical methods for clinical and educational scholarly projects, while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations for management and analysis of sensitive data.
  • Contributing to academic manuscripts, grant submissions, and other scholarly works.
*Contributing to educational and faculty development programming on quantitative methodology. * Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education/Experience
Master’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned. Experience conducting bivariate and multivariable tests. Experience with statistical analysis software packages such as Stata, R, or SAS. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Experience with peer-reviewed publication in the health sciences. At least 3 years’ professional experience conducting statistical analysis. Experience with teaching, training, or conducting workshops in higher education settings. Experience with statistical analyses incorporating complex survey design, survival analysis, multilevel analysis, power analysis, structural equation modeling, and/or multiple imputation. Experience with mixed methods research. Experience with quality improvement methodology
