Lab Technician 2, Burl - Burbank

As a Laboratory Technician 2 of the BURL Outreach Clinical Laboratory in Burbank, your duties include: · Prepare specimens for analysis * Assists in coordination of couriers and routes, including follow-ups on service delays * Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages * Triage all lab samples and requests after verification of appropriate information * Enter and verify patient and test info into computer * Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas * Prepare samples for transport to referral labs or storage * Document draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens * Provide coverage as necessary to other draw stations (e.g. Clarita, Panorama City, Torrance, Burbank, Encino, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Woodland Hills, Porter Ranch and Thousand Oaks) Salary Range: $31.82 - $41.96/hour

REQUIRED * A current, California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I Certificate * High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET) * Must have at least 2 years of recent experience performing phlebotomy in a high-volume testing laboratory (post receiving CPT certificate) * Ability to work at other draw stations as necessary (e.g. Santa Clarita, Panorama City, Torrance, Burbank, Encino, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Woodland Hills, Porter Ranch and Thousand Oaks) * Must be able to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed * Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite * Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships * Excellent communication, organization and time management skills * Skill in performing related computer procedures (LIS, HIS) PREFERRED · Knowledgeable in quality assurance practices
