PURPOSE OF JOB: This is a training position intended to provide formal education and on the job experience. Working under close supervision, this individual serves as an entry-level Biomedical support technician and performs a basic range of professional tasks, to include inventory control, minor repairs, and maintenance of medical equipment, devices, instruments, and systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist the Biomedical Equipment Manager and Biomedical Technicians with projects, safety inspections, new equipment installations, basic PM's, and remedial repairs.

• Document all service events, performance tests, and corrective maintenance.

• Schedule and oversee third-party repair as necessary.

• Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures that will ensure appropriate technical support of clinical units.

• Work toward fulfilling the requirements of the AAMI BMET Apprenticeship program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Enrollment in an associate's or bachelor's degree program is preferred but not required.

Other Skills:

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• Basic knowledge of office machines and Microsoft Windows operation.

• Basic knowledge of the technical aspects of electronic equipment.

Training time required once hired: 3 Months
